Costco issues upgrade to egg recall

Some eggs at Costco have been under recall, but now the warning has been upgraded to the highest health hazard in the federal system.

The Kirkland Organic Eggs were recalled voluntarily due to the risk of salmonella exposure at the end of November.

Now the 24-egg pack sold at Costco in Georgia and four other southern states have been upgraded to a Class 1 hazard. That means the eggs present “a situation in which there is a reasonable probability that the use of, or exposure to a violative product will cause serious adverse health consequences or death.”
