Bulldogs get kick times, Diamond Dogs face Gators, hockey team has name

The SEC has set the kick times for two more Georgia Bulldog football games: the September 14 game against the Kentucky Wildcats will be a night game in Lexington, kicking off at 7:30, while the November 2 game against the Florida Gators in Jacksonville will get underway with the traditional 3:30 kick. Both Bulldog games will be televised on ABC. We learned earlier this week that the Dogs August 31 season opener against Clemson will be a noon contest.

There is baseball this evening in Athens: the Florida Gators come to Foley Field for the UGA baseball team’s final home series of the regular season. First pitch for the Diamond Dogs-Gator game comes just after 6 o’clock tonight. It’s the final series of the regular season, coming ahead of next week’s SEC tournament in Hoover Alabama.

Athens’ minor league hockey team, set to begin play in October in a new arena at the Classic Center, will be named the Rock Lobsters. The name that stems from a song by the Athens-based B-52s, was chosen by fans in a vote held in April.
