The Newton County Sheriff’s Office has identified five people who were killed in a crash earlier this month.
The 16-year-old driver remains in critical condition, according to the sheriff’s office. He has not been identified because he was a juvenile.
Deputies said the crash happened around 3 p.m. on April 8 near Highway 142 at Adams Circle, officials said. Investigators said the crash was a two-car head-on collision involving a van and pick-up truck.
Deputies identified the people who were killed Thursday as 26-year-old Makayla Taylor, 55-year-old Alicia Eisenmann, 58-year-old Darin Quattlebaum, 55-year-old Kelly Pike and 68-year-old Peggy Wynn.
All five people who were killed were in the van.
United Cerebral Palsey of Georgia said the van belonged to them and that four of the victims were people with disabilities who lived in a group home and the fifth victim, Taylor, was a staff member.
Taylor’s father, Malcolm Taylor, said on social media that his daughter was driving four of her patients to the doctor when the crash happened.
