Athens man killed in vehicle vs pedestrian accident on Commerce Road

Athens-Clarke County Police say a pedestrian was struck and killed on Commerce Road: police say it happened after 31 year-old Quentin Williams of Athens was involved in a crash on Commerce Road near Pine Bluff Road. After the accident, he got out of his vehicle and, while walking to check on the driver of the second vehicle, he was struck and killed and another man was struck and injured. Police say his injuries were not serious. The woman who was driving the car in the car vs truck accident was in an Athens hospital, at last report in critical condition.

On November 14th at approximately 5:40 PM, ACCPD responded to a two-vehicle crash at Commerce Road and Pinebluff Road. The driver of a 2002 Chevy Malibu, Jasmine Littlejohn (30 YOA, Athens), facing west at the stop sign on Pinebluff Road, pulled into the path of a 2014 International Semi-Truck headed north on Commerce Road. Both vehicles came to rest in the Commerce Road turn lane at the intersection. Quentin Williams (31 YOA, Athens), the driver of the Semi-Truck, was not injured, exited his truck, and crossed the street to a safer location, the Shell Gas station parking lot at 1790 Commerce Road.

Shortly after, a co-worker, Robert White (59 YOA, Watkinsville), joined Williams in the Shell parking lot. According to witnesses, they decided to walk across Commerce Road to check on the driver of the Malibu, Jasmine Littlejohn. While crossing, a northbound Chevy Tahoe driven by John Trim (37 YOA, Jefferson) collided with Williams and White. Fatality and Injuries from both Incidents EMS transported Williams to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. EMS also transported White to a local hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. EMS transported Jasmine Littlejohn to a local hospital with serious injuries. She is listed in critical condition. The passenger in Littlejohn’s vehicle was treated for minor injuries.
