Athens-Clarke Co Police probe Nowhere Road homicide

Athens-Clarke County Police have a homicide on their hands: Police say a woman is facing an involuntary manslaughter charge in the shooting death of a man who was killed on Nowhere Road in Athens. 26 year-old Heather McCall is also looking at a count of reckless conduct in the death of 31 year-old Jeremy Howard. The shooting happened early Wednesday. Police say Howard died after being taken to a hospital in Athens. The investigation is ongoing.

On June 12th, 2024, the Athens-Clarke County Police Department responded to the 100 block of Nowhere Road in reference to a shooting. Officers secured the scene, located the victim with a gunshot wound, and provided life-saving efforts to the victim. EMS transported the victim, Jeremy Howard, 31, Athens, to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Heather McCall, 26, of Athens, was arrested and charged with Involuntary Manslaughter and Reckless Conduct.
