A Barrow County teenager reported missing Monday was found Wednesday: 16 year-old Kaelyn Phillips of Winder was last seen in Fort Yargo State Park earlier this week; she was found safe in North Carolina. Winder’s Police Chief says there was no foul play in her brief disappearance.
A man from Franklin County is charged in a shooting in Hart County: Patrick Wheeler is 26 years old, from Canon. He’s accused of shooting and wounding a man on a street in Hartwell. The shooting victim was, at last report, hospitalized in Anderson South Carolina.
There is a not guilty plea from Keegan Phillips, who is charged in a decapitation murder committed last summer: victim Angie Lanford was killed in Rabun County; Phillips was arrested after a manhunt in Hall County.
Critics of plans for an electric vehicle manufacturing plant along the Morgan-Walton county line have appealed a judge’s ruling that tossed out a lawsuit filed over a zoning dispute. Rivian is clearing land on two thousand acres near Rutledge and plans to employ upwards of 75 hundred workers to build electric SUVs.
