Area briefs: Prince Ave wins another state title, Hall Co Supt gets another three years

Two football teams from schools in Oconee County played for high school state championships Monday in Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta: the flag football team from North Oconee came up short, while Prince Avenue Christian School won a state title for a second straight year.

Today is another day for fall final exams at UGA, with the University of Georgia’s fall semester commencement exercises set for Friday.

This evening’s meeting of the Barrow County Commission is set for 6 o’clock at the Historic Courthouse in Winder.

The Madison County Board of Education meets tonight: the School Board session is set for 7 o’clock in Danielsville.

The Hall County School Board, meeting in Gainesville, has extended by another three years the contract for Hall County School Superintendent Will Schofield.

The GBI has released the name of a homeless man found dead in Gainesville in October. Scott Danner was 63 years old. There’s no word yet from the Hall County Sheriff’s Office on Danner’s cause of death.
