The Clarke County School District says the trailers delivered to Clarke Middle School will be put in place over next week’s spring break and will be set up with utilities and sidewalks over the summer, ready for use as classrooms starting on August 1. They’ll be used as classrooms during upcoming renovations at the school on Baxter Street in Athens.

There will be overnight delays for drivers on I-85 through Franklin County, where the Georgia DOT is installing temporary barrier walls on the interstate between Georgia Highways 51 and 320 near Carnesville. The DOT says the work that began last night is expected continue nightly between 9pm and 6am through Thursday morning.
The Georgia State Patrol is investigating a deadly car crash in Stephens County: the truck vs motorcycle collision claimed the life of the motorcycle rider. James Kelley was 44 years old, from Toccoa. State Troopers say the 77 year-old woman who was driving the truck suffered minor injuries in the wreck, which happened on Georgia Highway 106 in Stephens County.
We have this morning the name of the man who was killed in last weekend’s helicopter crash in Hall County: Larry Preiss was 75 years old, from Gainesville. His small experimental copter went down in a hayfield in north Hall. The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating.
