Area briefs: Oconee Co schedules next town hall, Hall Co arrests child porn suspect

Oconee County Commissioners set April 16 as the date for their next quarterly town hall: it will be held at the County Administrative Building on Macon Highway in Watkinsville.

There are indictments for the South Carolina couple arrested last month in Franklin County: a grand jury in Carnesville handed up charges against 40 year-old Jason Robinson and 41 year-old Dawn Goff, both from Winnsboro South Carolina. They were arrested after a traffic stop on I-85 in Franklin County, caught with what deputies say was methamphetamine and what turned out to be a stolen gun.

Gainesville High School says it is raising money for a scholarship that will be named in honor of a star baseball player who died last year. The Jeremy Medina Memorial Scholarship will bear the name of the 17 year-old who was hit in the head in an accident in a batting cage in the high school in Hall County.

There are child porn charges for a man arrested in Gainesville: 66 year-old Danny White was booked into the Hall County jail.

A crash ends a police pursuit in Habersham County: deputies say they arrested James Parris after he wrecked his car on Highway 15 in Habersham County. He was wanted on outstanding warrants and charges in Habersham, White, and Stephens counties.
