Lolli Campbell, who had been running for the District 5 seat on the Council in Monroe, says she will instead support Adrian Brown, who is running to unseat Council incumbent Norman Garrett in elections that will be held in November.
A Hall County judge denies a motion for a retrial in the case of DeMarvin Bennett, the East Point man who is serving a life sentence for a 2019 murder in Gainesville: Bennett was convicted of shooting and killing 73 year-old Jack Hough, who was gunned down during a robbery outside a Gainesville pharmacy.
