Area briefs include shooting on Clayton Street, interim Manager in Carnesville

Athens-Clarke County Police say the Commerce woman arrested on shooting charges faces counts that include aggravated assault. Police say no one was injured when she opened fire on Clayton Street. 25 year-old Ashley Ledesma was booked into and has bonded out of the Athens-Clarke County jail. 

Franklin County Commissioners name an interim County Manager: Franklin County EMS director Terry Harris takes over for Derrick Turner, who announced his resignation earlier this month. Commissioners say they will now search for a full-time replacement.

Emergency responders in Hall and Jackson counties are now partnering on a regional radio system, one officials in both counties say will make for faster response times in an expanded radio service area. A rolling-out ceremony is scheduled for later this month in Jackson County.

A White County man faces a long list of felony charges: Walter Drew is 40 years old, from Cleveland. He’s accused of illegally photographing young girls while they were taking showers, allegedly doing so without their knowledge.
