Area briefs: Bear Hollow Zoo closes, JDA meets, EMC works

Bear Hollow Zoo is closed again today, day two of what is expected to be three days of tree removal at Memorial Park in Five Points in Athens.

The Georgia Department of Natural Resources says it issued 15 citations for boating under the influence during the Memorial Day weekend on Lake Lanier: the DNR says there were two accidents involving boats on Lanier, with neither resulting in any serious injuries.
