Area briefs: A-CC Commissioners told to prepare for growth, Jefferson names new City Attorney

The Athens-Clarke County Planning Department tells Athens-Clarke County Commissioners the population of Athens will increase by another 30 thousand by 2045: Commissioners held a Tuesday work session at City Hall to talk about plans for future growth.

A citizens committee that is looking at the sales tax-funded work on the new arena for the Classic Center meets today, 5 o’clock this afternoon at Athens City Hall.

The Hall County Sheriff’s Office says a Gainesville teenager who had been reported missing has been found safe: 13 year-old Kimberly Dominguez was reported missing Monday; she was found Tuesday.

A suspect is arrested in Rabun County, charged with trafficking in methamphetamine and fentanyl: drug agents in the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office say 33 year-old Pablo Montvalo was arrested after a three-month investigation.
