There is another boil water advisory in place for Oconee County: it’s for homes along Windsor Drive near the Oconee Primary and Elementary schools, where work on a water main is taking place. Oconee County Water Resources says the work comes as the schools are out on fall break. The boil water advisory is in effect for today and tomorrow.

From the Oconee Co government website...

On Thursday, 10/5/2023, at 10 p.m., Oconee County Water Resources will tie in a water main in the area of Windsor Drive and Oconee County Primary and Elementary Schools. Water will be turned off to homes, businesses, and schools in the affected area from approximately 10 p.m. to midnight during this repair. Oconee County Schools will be on Fall Break during this time, and students will not be affected by this work. All residents, businesses, and schools in the affected area have been notified. Affected street addresses include 2230-2290 Hog Mountain Rd, 1030-1080 Windsor Dr, and 1001 Woodbine Dr.

As a Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD) mandated precaution, a boil water advisory will be in effect from 12 a.m. on 10/6/2023 to 12 a.m. on 10/07/2023 in this area. During this time, all water used for drinking and food preparation should be boiled for one minute. The water is safe for other domestic purposes. Customers will be notified if testing indicates that the boil water advisory must be extended.
