NE Ga Animal Shelter closes

The Northeast Georgia Animal Shelter in Lavonia is closed: the facility in Franklin County is shut down because of concern about puppies with parvo virus. The shelter is scheduled to reopen on May 31.

Shelter director Tracy Jordainis says “during this time we ask for your understanding, to know we are doing everything we can to keep anyone else from getting sick and to make sure this doesn’t happen again. Once again, a 14-day quarantine is in effect for our shelter. No incoming or outgoing dogs or cats at all. We are very sorry for the inconvenience.”
