Accused fentanyl trafficker arrested in Athens

Athens-Clarke County Police report the arrest of an accused fentanyl trafficker: Christopher Allen is 29 years old, from Athens. Police say he was taken into custody at a convenience store on North Avenue in Athens, caught with drugs and firearms.

On November 15, 2023, at approximately 1:30 PM, acting on information received from local citizens, ACCPD with assistance from the Northeast Georgia Regional Drug Task Force and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms, arrested Christopher Allen (29YOA, Athens) at a convenience store located at 496 North Avenue.

Officers arrested Allen without incident after he exited the store and entered his vehicle. A search of his person and vehicle located two concealed handguns, a collection of narcotics, and approximately $1,200 in U.S. currency.

Allen was charged with Trafficking in Fentanyl, Trafficking in Cocaine, Possession of Schedule I Drug with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Schedule II Drugs, two counts of Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of Certain Crimes, two counts of Possession of a Firearm by Convicted Felon, and Possession of Stolen Property-Firearm (one handgun was reported stolen locally).
