ACCPD: real time crime center used in arrest of murder suspect

Athens-Clarke County Police have a homicide on their hands. A 20 year-old man was shot and killed at the Rolling Ridge Apartments off Newton Bridge Road in Athens. It happened overnight Monday. Police reported the Tuesday arrest of 16 year-old Zyquavious Thomas, who is in the Athens-Clarke County jail, charged in the death of Cameron Manago, who was killed in what appears to have been a robbery attempt.

Police say charges against Thomas include felony murder, attempted armed robbery, and aggravated assault.

On May 27th, at approximately 10:25 PM, Athens-Clarke County Police responded to a shooting at Rolling Ridge Apartments.

As officers arrived on the scene, a subject was found with a gunshot wound. Cameron Manago, 20, Athens, GA, was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Zyquavious Thomas, 16, Athens, GA, has been arrested and charged with Felony Murder, Attempted Armed Robbery, and Aggravated Assault. Thomas is being charged as an adult.
