Athens-Clarke County Police investigate another shooting, the third this week in Athens: like the other two, injuries to a man who was shot on Martin Court are said to non life-threatening. The 31 year-old man was treated at an Athens hospital for a gunshot wound to his ankle; police say a 27 year-old woman was identified as the shooting suspect and taken into custody.

On June 27, 2023, at approximately 8:00 PM, ACCPD responded to the 100 block of MartinCourt for a shooting call. A 31-year-old male victim advised he had been shot in the ankle. Investigating officers identified the suspect. The 27-year-old female suspect was taken into custody without incident. The victim was transported by EMS to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
