The Athens-Clarke County Police Department says fentanyl and firearms are off the streets, as are six suspected drug dealers arrested in a joint operation involving, among others, the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, the Georgia State Patrol, and the FBI. Police say the suspects are from Athens-Clarke, Madison, and Bartow counties.

Recently, a joint two-day operation culminated in the arrests of six Fentanyl and Methamphetamine dealers from several counties including: Bartow, Madison, and Clarke. As a result of the operation, law enforcement seized seven firearms, approximately ten ounces of fentanyl (some of which was pressed into counterfeit Oxycodone pills), five ounces of Methamphetamine, and a quantity of cocaine. The agencies involved in the operation include the Athens-Clarke County Police Department, the Northeast Georgia Regional Drug Task Force, Georgia State Patrol, the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, the US Drug Enforcement Administration, and the FBI Safe Streets Task Force.
The operation’s investigation is ongoing.
