The Athens-Clarke County Commission met last night in its new and temporary meeting space, gathering at the Clarke County School District’s central office on Prince Avenue while City Hall gets new security upgrades. Commissioners will continue to meet at School Board headquarters until returning to City Hall, likely in August.

Oconee County Commissioners voted last night to allocate $87 thousand to help meet staffing shortfalls in the Western Circuit District Attorney’s office. Commissioners, at their meeting in Watkinsville, were told that DA Deborah Gonzalez has missed a deadline to reapply for a grant that has been funding those payroll positions.
