GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — Police in Gwinnett County made a disturbing discovery after receiving a call for a welfare check on New Year’s Day.
A woman recently made a request for a welfare check on her mother to police. That later led to a missing persons investigation by police and evolved into a homicide investigation.
Capt. Scott Bennett with Lilburn police says a woman and her son’s body were found in two separate locations.
A suspect was arrest around 30 miles away from Lilburn, according to police. That individual faces murder charges and was taken to Gwinnett County Jail.
The identities of the two victims and the suspect has not been released by police.
