Athens-Clarke County Police say the investigation into a weekend crash on Tallassee Road is ongoing: police say two SUVs collided head-on on Tallassee near Ramble Hills Drive, killing the driver of one of them. Christopher Nix was 50 years old, from Jefferson. Three other people were injured and hospitalized. All are expected to survive.
One student was said to have been slightly injured in a Monday accident involving a school bus in Hall County: the bus hauling students from East Hall Middle and High schools was involved in the accident, which is under investigation.
The driver of a car that crashed on Highway 316 in Gwinnett County is facing charges vehicular homicide: there are also methamphetamine possession charges for 24 year-old Christian Valesquez. He survived the wreck that killed two of his passengers. The single-vehicle wreck happened on 316 near Sugarloaf Parkway in Lawrenceville.
