There is a one-day delay in the start of the high school football season in Athens: the Clarke Central Gladiators and the Cedar Shoals Jaguars were to have kicked off one week from tonight; the new schedule calls for a 7:30 kickoff the following night, Saturday August 21 in Billy Henderson Stadium at Clarke Central.

The reported reason for the change is what is said to a spike in coronavirus cases and contact tracing issues with the Clarke Central football team.
