Athens-Clarke County Police say a body found in the North Oconee River off University Circle has been identified as that of Seth Evans, the 27 year-old man who was last seen late last month. The remains were recovered by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources. There is no word yet on cause of the death. The investigation is ongoing.

On April 11, 2022, the Athens-Clarke County Police Department, with the assistance of the Athens-Clarke County Fire and Emergency Services, the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, and the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources Dive Team, located the body of Seth Stephen Evans in the North Oconee River. Next of kin has been notified. The investigation is ongoing.
