We have today the name of the motorcycle rider who was killed in a Sunday night accident on Atlanta Highway in Athens: Marlon Rosales was 21 years old, from Barrow County. Police say his motorcycle flew over a guardrail on the Epps Bridge Parkway flyover and landed on the eastbound shoulder of Atlanta Highway. An Athens-Clarke County Police investigation is ongoing.

On October 24, 2021, at approximately 9:30PM, the Athens-Clarke County Police Department responded to the area of Atlanta Highway at the Epps Bridge Parkway flyover ramp, regarding a single-vehicle motorcycle crash. The initial investigation revealed that Marlon Rosales, 21, of Bethlehem, GA, was riding a 2021 Yamaha MT-03 motorcycle on the Epps Bridge Pkwy flyover ramp. The motorcycle left the travel lane and struck the concrete bridge guardrail. Both the motorcycle and rider went over the guardrail, leaving the bridge, and landing along the eastbound shoulder of Atlanta Highway.
Rosales died at the scene as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.
